Some glaring omissions here (Hoop Dreams & Three Colors: Red for 1994, Fanny and Alexander for 1982 are some of the first which come to mind), but voted 94.

You made a case for 1999 being the worst, tbh. Yuck.

Ummm 1982 because Alone in the Dark, Amityville 2, Basket Case, The New York Ripper, and Fast Times.

lol i love ernest goes to camp. reminds me of the old campy 70's/ 80's feel of really going to camp. when the cook would be cooking some crappy food with a cigarette in his mouth. times sure have changed.

Even so, I haven't seen it. I've only seen 2 from Solondz: Welcome to the Dollhouse (mildly enjoy) and Palindromes (dislike outside of one or two scenes*).

Happiness is objectively his best film from a critical perspective - but I like Storytelling and Palindromes nearly as much. I think Dollhouse is overrated. Fear, Anxiety, and Depression is okay. Life During Wartime is okay only because it has Paul Reubens and it's an *okay?* sequel to Happiness. Wienerdog is meh. Dark Horse sucked.
