Yes, but isnt it kind of a spoiler if I name the show? It is a relatively new Amazon production based off a book.

Only if you're lead to believe the snake character is supposed to be a bad guy at first, I'd think. I mean, you could use spoiler tags and it should be fine.

There's still stuff on Nickelodeon besides Loud House and Henry Danger?

I just remembered Rattly or whatever his name was from DKC2, and I guess arguably Trowzer in Yooka-Laylee :/

Just to be safe Ill spoiler tag it but yeah it skirts the edge of being a twist. It becomes clear pretty quickly hes at least halfway good.

Reptiles are one of our most ancient predators if you ask me. Engrained into our primitive minds, probably.

But also in the Bible the snake is more of an adversary than straight up evil.

In the original Jungle Book and the live action adaptation with Sabu, Kaa is a bro.

There's also professional wrestler Jake "The Snake" Roberts, but his was a case of him being a bad guy that was turned good guy when he became popular with the crowds (i.e. almost instantly).

Big Boss restarted the idea of war profiteering in the 20th century. Big Boss was complicit in a plan to completely brainwash his best friend in order to continue his operations covertly. Venom Snake was able to regain his identity, and chose to continue to work for Big Boss in furthering his goals. Big Boss sent his own son into a death trap in the pursuit of his goals. Big Boss held the world hostage twice in the pursuit of his goals. Big Boss attempted to murder his own son after he ruined his plans. Big Boss had no qualms about completely destroying society to further his goals, and arguably that was his goal for the later half of his life.

Big Boss deciding to give his son a hug before he died doesn't negate that he was a warmongering piece of shit.

The serpent in the Garden of Eden.

Literally wanted to venerate man unto the same status as God. God's the villain there, punishing not just the humans who violated that boundary but also punished all of mankind forever. And then spent ages before he sent down his son to die for the sins he engraved in us, finally allowing us access to heaven.

Snakes aren't really a threat to humans. I mean the majority of them can't really hurt us beyond an annoying bite. Only a few have venom.

The real threats to humans are ants, mosquitoes, various parasitic worms, and other humans

First thing that comes to me is a certain anime:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juuni_Senshi_Bakuretsu_Eto_Ranger

The team of protagonists encompasses the avatars of all twelve of the Chinese Zodiac, so of course as one of them, Snake is a good guy.

He's portrayed as the bookish nerd who's super-smart, takes the role of strategist and has some psychic abilities, but physically weak to the point of being a liability when fights occur.

What he meant doesn't really make a lot of sense. We probably had more problems historically with shit like bears, boars, wolves, and other ornery shit like groupers than we've had with snakes but they're not depicted as bad guys anywhere near as often.

The "badguyness" of a snake is because it's a strictly stealthy attacker which is associated with deception and treachery.
