Our July 4th Salute to America at the Lincoln Memorial is looking to be really big. It will be the show of a lifetime! We have the greatest economy anywhere in the world. We have the greatest military anywhere in the world. Not bad! S&P 500 hits new record high. Up 19% for the year. Congratulations! The cost of our great Salute to America tomorrow will be very little compared to what it is worth. We own the planes, we have the pilots, the airport is right next door (Andrews), all we need is the fuel. We own the tanks and all. Fireworks are donated by two of the greats. Nice! Our Border Patrol people are not hospital workers, doctors or nurses. The Democrats bad Immigration Laws, which could be easily fixed, are the problem. Great job by Border Patrol, above and beyond. Many of these illegals aliens are living far better now than where they..........came from, and in far safer conditions. No matter how good things actually look, even if perfect, the Democrat visitors will act shocked & aghast at how terrible things are. Just Pols. If they really want to fix them, change the Immigration Laws and Loopholes. So easy to do! .....Now, if you really want to fix the Crisis at the Southern Border, both humanitarian and otherwise, tell migrants not to come into our country unless they are willing to do so legally, and hopefully through a system based on Merit. This way we have no problems at all! If Illegal Immigrants are unhappy with the conditions in the quickly built or refitted detentions centers, just tell them not to come. All problems solved! Mexico is doing a far better job than the Democrats on the Border. Thank you Mexico! Iran has just issued a New Warning. Rouhani says that they will Enrich Uranium to any amount we want if there is no new Nuclear Deal. Be careful with the threats, Iran. They can come back to bite you like nobody has been bitten before!

So important for our Country that the very simple and basic Are you a Citizen of the United States? question be allowed to be asked in the 2020 Census. Department of Commerce and the Department of Justice are working very hard on this, even on the 4th of July! HAPPY 4TH OF JULY! People are coming from far and wide to join us today and tonight for what is turning out to be one of the biggest celebrations in the history of our Country, SALUTE TO AMERICA, an all day event at the Lincoln Memorial, culminating with large scale flyovers of the most modern.........and advanced aircraft anywhere in the World. Perhaps even Air Force One will do a low & loud sprint over the crowd. That will start at 6:00P.M., but be there early. Then, at 9:00 P.M., a great (to put it mildly) fireworks display. I will speak on behalf of our great Country! You cannot be a victim and a victor at the same time. You can either choose to win or accept your status as a loser. The secret is that if you stop making excuses, you will no longer have to. #BLEXIT

My point is that once they've left their country they should have put in an asylum application in the country they entered after exiting their own country, instead of bypassing multiple countries

They could put in asylum requests in almost any country along the way of their trip from the home countries but they choose not to. A lot of countries signed the 1951 Refugee Convention and the 1967 Protocol which allows refugees to seek asylum. So they're not shopping the US while bypassing other countries that offer asylum?

I'm saying they can choose to make asylum claims in other countries, those countries have to examine their claims if they put them in there. They just choose not to, but my point is that they can seek asylum elsewhere, but they choose not to. The whole point of asylum seeking is to escape persecution from their home countries. Once they've escaped that situation, they should put in a claim in that nation they've entered. I understand that there is no LEGAL requirement to do so, but they're technically not under persecution anymore since they've left their home country.

If you feel like wasting your time, go ahead and explain beyond just saying you're out of your league.

Neither of those agreements lists applying in a neighboring country as a minimum requirement. You literally pulled this idea that refugees can't pass through multiple countries out of your ass, which is why you can't actually back it up.

I will never understand why people on the internet think extending an argument is as good as being right. You're just making a fool out of yourself.

I'm not saying they're bound by agreements to do so. I've been saying they could apply to those countries first, since they come into contact with them first, before making their way to the United States. Choosing to not do so is on them, but they do have the ability to do so under international laws.

Also still waiting to learn about being out of my league and how I am a fool.

You've made two claims in this topic, both are false. Refugees are not required to seek asylum with a neighboring country before doing so with the US. Your status as a refugee is not determined by how many countries you have passed through, neither the 1951 Refugee Convention or the Protocol Relating to the Status of Refugees make any such mention.

There is no need to post again, you were wrong. It's ok.
