So my router has a few settings for this.e and my roommates have a game that we cant seem to play for longer than 30mns before we all get server kicked. They say its on my end (after weeks with tech support back and forth), even though we all simultaneously play everything else just fine.

Upnp is enabled. Zero Config wasnt, and when I did turn it on it seemed like we could stay on the game server longer together. But there are two rather confusing settings within the same page.

Advertisement period and time to live measured in hops. The router page describes them as such:

Advertisement Period: The Advertisement Period is how often the gateway will advertise (broadcast) its UPnP information.

Time to Live: Measured in hops for each UPnP packet sent. A hop is the number of steps an UPnP advertisement is allowed to propagate before disappearing.

By default, time to live is set to 30mns and hops is set to five. Ive screwed with these in the past, but our combined server time still seems random. Wondering if the values I set them to before were outside of a good range.

Googling explains what they do, but not necessarily what they SHOULD be or how it relates to our specific issue. When we play this game solo (as in nobody else is logged into its server), there is literally zero issue. Roommate logs on and its like an invisible timer starts ticking. Its fuckin annoying.

Been troubleshooting for months. Can someone better explain how advertisement period and time to live could be configured to allow us to all play longer? Do you think its related? Tech support says that the server cant prioritize multiple instances of the game under one gateway, so it kicks us.

But we can play for awhile, so...surely theres a solution? Two of us can play for up to around 10-30mns before a kick. If my third roommate is on, its like 15mns max before were all simultaneously booted. We dont even need to be in the same party, either.
