The Walmart greeter said that when he checked Valentine's receipt he noticed that a case of Gatorade had not been paid for.

"I told him if you want, you can scan and take it," he said.

However, Randhawa said Valentine got angry, yelling out he had paid for everything. In the video, you can see when Valentine pushes him and then punches him.

"I never told him he was stealing," he said.

Randhawa said he was simply doing his job, making sure all items on his receipt had been paid for. Sometimes, he said, cashiers may forget to scan an item, but in his 15 years at Walmart, he never encountered anything as horrible as this.

taking it out on the greeter is bullshit. he either was stealing or the cashier made a mistake. the greeter did nothing wrong and was just doing his job

i know the story all too well. around 11 years ago one of our greeters got assaulted once but that's because she pretty much sniffed out a scam. we had a customer come in and as it turns out she's good buddies with one of our cashiers. so there's basically a way to manually type in a product instead of scanning the item. you use the keyboard and can put something like "shirt" and ring it up for $1 even if it's $10. the greeter saw the receipt and knew the prices look fishy. so the customer said something like "just mind your business" and tried to grab the receipt back but the greeter went for a phone near the self check lane to call asset protection. lady ended up shoving her into a pole. investigation concluded the cashier was in on it and got fired.

Why would he do that? Even if you are shoplifting, a greeter can't make you stop. You don't have to show them your receipt, you just keep fucking walking. The most they can do is say "stop come back"
