So with multiple major companies having pulled out (including Sony), the ESA in disarray and wanting to give it to someone else, the lower attendance, fewer games on display, and the non-platform holder press conferences having less than ever, E3's best days are clearly behind it. So how many more do you think there will be? Certainly not many in its current form but I guess the name could stick around attached to something else.

I dont thibk Sony skipping was them bailing on E3. They have learned from past mistakes that a crappy E3 just leads to mockery and costs millions for nothing. It was smart to bow out this year especially when you're currently king.

Next year they will be back full force to showcase the PS5 launching holiday 2020, tons of new games. Cant show the new games for the PS5 at this years e3 when theybare in such early development and you havent shown the official ps4 yet.

Next years E3 is going to be the biggest one in years.

Sony & MS eith their new consoles and new games for them, other revs with new ambitions projects for the newer consoles, Nintendo ramping into another year where we will definitely see solid trailers for Prime 4 & BotW2 among probably now a few 1st party surprises seeing as the fluff like animal crossing will finally have been kicked out the door.

E3 will be around for a while.
