It does seem like theyre putting in the work to make it worth while. My problem is how long will actually take now that we know it will be more than 2 episodes. Like by the time ep 3 rolls out, the graphics and game mechanics run the chance of being outdated. How will they deal with character progression for each game?

The logistics seem like a nightmare and the fact that the producers dont know how long or how many episodes it will take is the biggest turn off from the whole thing. Pity cause this is the most hype ive been for a game in ages.

You do know that the whole reason game companies have to do bullshit with dlc, microtransactions, and lootboxes is because whiny, entitled "gamers" won't pay for adjusted costs of games? Games have cost the same for 3 decades, yet the dollar is inflated crap and development costs have gone up a thousandfold. It's why the industry only turns out samey always online shit that appeals to the broadest strokes instead of focusing on actual fun. I'd pay 120 bucks for a game that's worth it in a heartbeat if it meant the end $60 games that rarely ever do, but then who wants good games when you can bitch about things instead?

If you include Indie games, for sure. I'm not for a second suggesting video gaming is dead or dying, it's better than ever! But the kind of games that are on the absolute top tier of technology, so called AAA games? Innovation is dead in the face of open world, online shooters as far as the eye can see. They're the only ones companies can sell enough of new and generate enough revenue streams from to justify the thousands of people and hundreds of millions of dollars it takes to make them. It wouldn't need to be that way if video game prices were adjusted for inflation and development cost like literally every other product in the world that isn't dependent on getting money from whiny children.
