Anyway, I found it to not really have replay value and I didn't care for the item skill learning system. The cast was mostly meh, but I liked Garnet, Vivi was good, Zidane was generic but didn't really have any dislikable qualities. Steiner... didn't care for as a character but was great in battle. Quina was not useful but was really good if not bizarre comic relief.

Quina is pretty good if you get there blue magic.

LV5 Death has a dungeon where everything but the boss can be hit with it.
Mighty Guard lowers damage by half for the whole party.
Bad breath inflects confusion, darkness, poison, slow, and mini, even some bosses are effected by some of those statuses.
Limit Glove keep Quina at 1 hp and they can do 9,999 damage very early.
Twister is a strong wind element attack and many enemies are weak to wind by the time you get it.
Frog drop is good if you catch lots of frogs.
White wind is a decent party wide heal.
Magic hammer nurtures bosses that rely on magic.
Auto life instantly a revives KO'd party member.

Hmm. I never really got a chance to mess around with any of that. If the damn thing didn't keep randomly leaving, I may have invested more in them (although the randomly leaving was a good part of the comic relief >_>)

One fun yet annoying thing to do is trying to have Quina 'eat' every new enemy I face

Granted I know not every enemy gives blue magic and it's annoying because oftentimes Zidane/Freya/Quina's attacks and Vivi's magic do way too much damage and they'll die in like 2 hits, but if I do just one hit it won't be enough.

Quina also has a few moves to help with that.

Pumpkin Head does damage = to the users current hp vs there max hp. So you can wear enemies down by keeping Quinas hp from going to low. 1,000 needles does a fixed 1,000 damage. Matra magic brings the target to 1 hp but doesn't have a good chance to hit and Aqua breath does 25% of a targets max hp.
