The initial $100 price tag was steep for a console which featured FFVII, MGS and RE which have been re-released so many times prior. Lack of Dualshock and more popular games like Tony Hawk, Crash, Spyro and Tomb Raider also didn't help.

Personally, I wanted one as a collector item because I love PlayStation and it's successors, but I wasn't going to spend $100 on something with such a lackluster selection. $30? Meh.

I ordered one over the weekend. At that price it's perfectly acceptable if you intend to hack it. Cheaper and more powerful than a Pi 3, and comes with its own case and half-decent controllers.

That's a steep price to pay for a nostalgia cash grab though. Even this $30 price is a bit obscene considering how shittacular the thing is.

Although this week (and last) Gamestop is doing a 25% off 2+ pre-owned titles with purchase of a system and the PS Classic qualifies as a system. So you could buy two more recent titles for 25% off (35% with their discount card) and then just ditch the classic wherever I suppose.
