I never got the hate TTS cutscenes got. I mean, I can sort of understand hating them before MGS4 and Revengence came out, but compared to those games most of the stuff in TTS is pretty tame. Clearly MGS and realism just don't mix.

That was all cyborg stuff though. Well, and Nanomachines, son. Snake in MGS4 didn't do any of that.

It's better than MGS1, but you shouldn't play it as your first time experiencing MGS1. Unlike MGS2, with its comprehensive tutorials, you're just expected to know most of the things you can do from MGS2.

The worst part is they continued to phone it in for the rest of the series.

I have actually played every MGS game except Twin Snakes, so I can't comment aside from the VA I've seen watching the cutscenes online. But MGS1 on PS1 is my favorite in the series (which I believe I played for the first time around when Peace Walker came out).

Twin Snakes works great if you just look at it like it's Otacon retelling the story and exaggerating Snake's combat feats to anime level. Somebody put it that way a long time ago and it helps soothe some of the cringe off the ludicrous cutscenes.

I heard the original is what happened, and the twin snakes is like the legend of what happened as in people exaggerating or stretching the truth.

This doesn't mean anything except that the original's overdramatic shouting exchanges isn't better or worse than Twin Snakes' sometimes oversubdued covert tone. Yeah there's a nuclear danger at hand that has to be stopped but every sentence in the original is tonally punctuated with exclamations.

I mean the game itself even iterates it's a sneaking mission and noise is a crucial aspect of the game. The new VA seemed logical based on that at least.

So which fucking is it?

Complain about the cutscenes, someone points out MGS is unrealistic and over the top so missile kick flips are perfectly fine.

Complain that the VA lacks any emotion at all? Well it's a sneaking mission so nobody should be getting emotional cause it's too noisy.

Seriously? IIRC, nano communication doesn't even *make* noise per MGS2.

It's just a different ending where she dies and Otacon and Snake ride off into the sunset together. You also get stealth camoflauge (turn invisible) as a replay reward instead of the bandana (gives infinite ammo)

Honestly, I always thought it fit them being so tight in MGS2 better, but MGS4 makes it clear Meryl is the canonical ending.

Have you tried rolling a pencil over the button? That's how I did it when my arms were weaker.

You could also try tapping it with your index finger instead of using your tumb. Just use your writst to tap it quick. You don't need a lot of force for it to register IIRC

The bad ending is the better ending anyway IMO.

And even though it's non-canon, it actually gives you more information that will be relevant in future installments. I mean, it's nothing of supreme importance or anything, but in 4 Snake reveals he knew somethonf he would have to have learned off-camera in the good ending. Go figure, huh?
