Well those people are dumb lol. The entire point of announcing it is so they can calmly walk everyone though the process. That way they're prepared when it actually happens and know what to do when things are a bit more hectic. They announce so people can stop and save work or whatever just in case.

^To be fair, I walked out early as well because literally everyone else in my office did (as did our HR department). But yeah, I feel that it doesn't really help with the training if there was an actual fire emergency.

Fire drills at my building only really tell you the date of the drill, it'll happen sometime in the afternoon so people don't leave before
