People with caps gotta play offline and take everything offline for the rest of the month or pay heavy overage fees

Because these days a lot of people have data caps and even if their data is "unlimited" they still get throttled past a certain point.

This whole thing seems to incredibly pointless without an offline way to play those games. I'm not sure who this is for.

Maybe the internet will catch up eventually but it won't in the next couple of years at least.

I mean, with Xfinity we get 300TB a month but i know some other companies offer less, especially in other countries. This thing is being marketed to more serious gamers, I can't see something like this gaining a casual audience...and a lot of those people who do like it won't be able to play it as much as they play anything else. Factor in the monthly fee and i can see it turning some people off.

What sort of specific level of gamers are they targeting for this to be truly relevant? Data-wise it's just cheaper to do a single download and play it on your high end PC. For more budget players, they can just buy any given console and simply just buy physical, which is also easier on the data and doesn't require waiting for a download. Considering the structure of game shipping is pretty robust nowadays, waiting for the game to arrive isn't a big deal for most people either. Also there's no need to be online.

Imagine comparing to a Switch and being able to play that anywhere, compared to their eventual plan to let you stream games on Pixel, which is not only not built for portable play due to requiring a detached controller for most relevant games, but also requiring you to use your mobile data which isn't particularly strong and also has throttling even in unlimited. What if you lose connection in a bad connection area? Can't play? Don't have to deal with any of that with most physical games. I just don't see hardcore gamers without a super high end PC adopting Stadia

Some people are defending it by saying instead of buying a console you pay 10 bucks a month.

Some people also think leasing a car is more effective in the long term than owning it and using it for a VERY long time.

though would have to look at game selection to see if it's worth it at first. people already paid for psnow even before the downloads.

I pay like 45 for 120 unlimited down, granted I live in Europe, but the 1TB every 65 hours isn't going to be an issue.
