its been like this since sunday. and i get up at 7 for work. its been affecting me during work but i dont even get enough time to worry about it since theres so much going on this week

so im laying in bed in the dark on my phone

I've been using melatonin and/or Diphenhydramine for that.

Melatonin sometimes gives me very unpleasant dreams but works pretty well.

i have sleeping pills but im v reluctant to use them in case i get dependent

my sleep always goes weird every couple months but normally its for just one night. this one seems to be a bit longer

If you are really struggling to sleep then you definitely shouldn't be on your phone in bed.

The bright light makes your body think its day time making you more wakeful. Also make sure you aren't using those super bright and blue-ish daylight light bulbs in your bedroom.

Also the more you want to sleep, the harder it is to sleep. Just relax and trust in your alarm clock.

The other day, I had an 18 hour day that ended at 3am, and then I had to be at work at 4am for a 16 hour day. That was a rough one
