I've been watching since his 15th or 16th win, holy fuck is it insane watching him. I've gotten a few friends into it who were like "yeah, this is going to be dumb" but when they saw how much he runs train, they were on the James hype train with me

Just try to handle this.

Yeah the best part about him is that he's not obnoxious, but still has enough of a subtle personality that it's hard to not like him.

He's only $58,484 away from Ken's money record, good chance he's gonna break it

It's kind of a bummer seeing the clues in reverse order, though, just as a viewer.

thanks, I hadn't seen him yet. He's methodical, but also very fast. He can be beaten but it's clear he thinks faster and the Forrest Bounce throws people off.

I got a few right that he got wrong.

The only thing I ask is, where has he been all this time? Like, you don't suddenly get good at Jeopardy.

My friend is convinced that it's all staged and is leading up to Alex announcing his retirement after James finally loses.

I've watched almost every episode of Jeopardy over the past 20 years. James is kind of ruining Jeopardy. My wife and I always got excited for big, risky Daily Doubles. Now it's every day. I used to think of how wild it would be to see someone win over 100k in one episode. James has done it, what, over 5 or so times now?

It's a blast to watch now, but once his run is over, its gonna be kinda tough watching slow, low scoring games again.

I'd definitely say that James is the best champ ever though. After that it's hard to deny Ken, but Brad always has Ken's number. Austin was fun at first but he started to get all arrogant and annoying. Julia and Rodger are solid. Buzzy can fuck right off.

It's not exactly easy to get a spot on Jeopardy, first of all.

He was also on the game show The Chase a few years ago, where he also did very well.

Other than that, he was probably soaking up as much trivia as he could in preparation for this.

I wonder if he ever imagined that he'd do THIS well.

The May 31st episode didn't even have hard questions, it was like junior high level knowledge (Harriet Tubman? Seriously? ROFL.) I haven't seen this show in years so maybe this guy was cleaning house with some serious questions on earlier episodes.

Or maybe Americans are getting dumber and Jeopardy from the 80's would crush these people, I don't know.

You are actually told what to study in advance. You're not given specific boxes or anything but it's not like people on that show just know everything before they show up.

Sure, but studying certain things in advance is going to make you much better. If you're going on Jeopardy you better have a solid grasp on Shakespear, the bible, classical music, geography, etc.

I understand its not easy.

But you mean to tell me someone who's won 31 days in a row wouldn't have made it on before others? Just in the totality of things.

Maybe he didn't sign up before and thats why, its just weird to me.

There used to be a guy on the Jeopardy subreddit who posted the episodes on Dailymotion and a Google Drive account daily. Unfortunately some dipshit brought this up in a news article about said subreddit during the All-Star tournament which lead to the Sony Copyright Brigade putting a stop to it.

So right now, no :(
