I've never been this conflicted about a piece of media before. I'm loving every second of it, the cinematography, the acting, the atmosphere, the costume design, the plot, everything about it is perfect.

But man, there have been many scenes where I've swallowed hard and was on the verge of stopping watching. This shit is what nightmares are made of.

Episode three is probably the best episode of any show I've ever seen. Flawless from start to finish.

I truly recommend it to everyone.

Not at all, it was a much needed laugh. "We're wearing the hat"

No, I like seeing penises every once in a while.

The interview with the scientist was the scene that got the most. The makeup was PHENOMENAL and when he started bleeding through the nose and eyes... Holy crap.

My only problem is the only fictional character is made to be a Mary Sue

I disagree. I think the fact that the series opened (and finished, if you know what I mean) with Legasov and seeing how he's the only one that actually knows what the consequences are, tells me he's the central figure of the story.

I mean, I get you, but I don't get you lol.

My only issue is that they all have some sort of English accent lol.

Kind of kills my immersion at times.

That's what I mean. The Mary Sue is usually a character which the story revolves around, to the point where it's an alter ego of the creator to justify him/herself as a central figure in the story.

I don't see her as a pivotal piece when it comes to the disaster itself.

However, I've heard theories of her being Johan Renck's homage to Svetlana Alexievich, the writer of "Voices of Chernobyl".
