but it's well known that the global economic power of the us hinges on the rest of the world buying and selling petroleum using the us dollar, with dissidents being subject to sanctions and other forms of political pressure and of course military intervention at an extreme

with this demand as a global reserve currency serving to prop up its value, which would otherwise potentially be in dire straights given the obscene amount of debt that has been assumed, with only the interest actually being paid down by the budget

the petroyuan alone naturally poses an existential threat to this order, moreso than any trade imbalance
