Money. I feel like traveling through the Universe, and the uncertainty of what's all there, could have the potential of fucking up your mind.

Travel. If I leverage it correctly, I could make far more than $100 billion. Plus, all the amazing things I could see and even confirm if there's life--intelligent life, even--out there aside from us.

Yeah that was a headscratcher. I also don't know what the purpose of the restriction is, lol.

So that you don't have immortality on earth, I would presume.

hate when nerds ruin these topics by abusing the alternative to the large sum of money to just end up making money anyway

it's like, way to miss the point entirely

so basically "No man's Sky" but in real life without the restrictions and with the potential of finding life? or 100 billion dollars?

I do feel like knowing whether light years affect my teleporting or not is a factor here.

There is enough speculation and knowledge about long term space travel as in being in space for more than a year or two can psychologically be damaging to folks and I don't think the many syfy stories on the subject are all together wrong. Being along in a vast endless waste could be psychologically quite miserable even if exciting at first.

so if traveling effects the earth and as such kills everyone I have ever known, and would do so each time I teleport there and back, I'd probably take the 100 billion. Though I won't lie, I'd be very tempting to take the travel the universe route.

I'd take the universe travel if I could be made to comprehend what I was doing.

So if need some kind of godsight to pick out and see small areas of the cosmos and remember how to teleport or fly to them.

If I can scan and go then universe.

To answer some of your worries, let me explain a little. There are two major causes of time dilation (more than years+ lost)

One is that objects closer to massive centers of gravities move slower in time than those further away and the relative velocities of these objects affects a desync of time. So the flow would be pretty heavily affected when you're around a black hole or other objects with immense gravity.

To illustrate, a planet orbiting a star near the the very edge of the Milky Way in relation to Earth should face a desync of about 1 second every 25 years. This is on a larger scale in relation to the Milky Way's center supermassive black hole, as the center of gravity and the object's velocities in relation to it cause the desync.

So for argument's sake, I'll say that time is uniform around the Universe because time can be flowing very differently around the Universe like said and it could fuck things up.

The second major cause of time dilation is going sub-light close to c. So unless you intentionally want to travel into the future, there's no reason to go at those speeds.

I limited things to the Moon because then everybody would just take the "travel the Universe" option and chill on Earth with all the benefits.
