Well I'm sorry if you don't believe that, but it's what she asked. What else seems incredibly exaggerated?

The fact that 911 would tell you to tail anyone

Ive seem homeless people scrap and go on hurting people and Ive called it in

The instructions I was given was to not stay on site and get to safety never was I told to follow the prep to identify them

Thats where you lose me

Or maybe he thinks that tailing and confronting are the same?

Even if that is the case, 911 operators do in fact ask callers to: remain on the scene, keep an eye on the suspect, or follow them down the interstate. Maybe they don't in NY, but I know they do in VA because I've sat in court and heard the recordings of the calls myself.

In medical emergencies Ive been told I can leave and professionals are on the way, I dont think Ive ever been in a situation where I had to help (I know CPR but Ive been fortunate enough to never need to use it)

Ive never been called in as a witness to anything or been asked to stay or tail anyone - thats just me living in NYC where everyone usually has a gun in spots like Brownsville or Canarsie - even for something as simple as a domestic disturbance theyve never told me to stay or anything. This is from personal experience though and I will cede this might be something that happens in safer states

Why was he reduced to a color when the couple got to be an ethnicity?

Because "black" is a commonly accepted, non-derogatory term for Africans, as evidenced by many news stories describing people as such. There is no common "colored" term for Japanese people.

Hey man good on you for calling 911 if you actually did (I dont know why youre bragging about it anyway) I stopped a child kidnapping by doing that

But I know for a fact 911 never will tell you to follow a perp because Ive been in a situation like yours (I live in Brooklyn, NYC)

Thats a sketchy detail Im calling out

I've had it happen twice where dispatch asked me to keep my distance but follow the person so they can be identified when police arrived.

Now, if you told dispatch that the person may have a weapon, then they'll likely tell you to do nothing.

I repeat, it's a detail to the story; a description. Rather than saying "Someone attacked someone", news stories try to get as much detail, so in this case it would be "Black man attacked white cop". Although you'll usually see the opposite, since the media likes to try to paint cops as racists.

everyone usually has a gun

It could be due to this, but most likely it'd be a combination of: amount of guns, amount of people, and frequency of gun violence.

Where I'm from there are more guns than people, we just don't shoot each other very often. I think the last shooting (of a person) here was over a decade ago, and that was a guy from out of town robbing a gas station.

If you weren't trolling the TC, I apologize for that comment.

I've been to NY a few times but never for more than a week or two while working a job. I don't know much about it.

I imagine with so much crime they might worry that having a caller follow someone could result in the callers death. I'm not sure if they'd be held responsible for it, but that could be their concern.

Why should you use a racial descriptor over anything else describing their appearance? The whole "black man gets shot by cop" thing is reflective of a social phenomenon with a lot of baggage behind it, I don't think black homeless people assaulting others are as much of a phenomenon.

Saying he's only wearing one sandal and socks in Hawaii says a lot about his mental state. Skin color does nothing but fuel the confirmation bias of those who judge by race.

Then lets go with "blue-eyed". Regardless you dodged my first question on why race is important. Hell I don't think anything else should be important besides "homeless man" because it's not like we're on the hunt for this specific person, or that there's some epidemic of specifically black homeless men doing these things. Unless that's what you're trying to insinuate.

What site are you talking about?

And right, I emphasized it by using the word black a grand total of two times. Yeah, that's putting some heavy emphasis. That's some duckbear level "WHITE MAN attacks BLACK TEEN" clickbait right there.

P.S.
I literally said that it's just a story of what I saw. I already posted what got modded, and the title was "I saw a homeless *redacted* man assault two people today :<"

Note how it says "I SAW". I didn't say "This is a news story" (although it literally is a news story), since it happened just yesterday, and I highly doubt media sources would get something in a matter of hours unless it was a huge case.

P.P.S.
Don't worry, it will become an "official" news story though. When someone stabs a cop, it tends to make it to the news here.

Duh, you're only allowed to post race if it's a white guy doing something bad.

Some media really do it that way.

My local news site, even on their unsolved crimes and most wanted page, will only say Caucasian or non-Caucasian.

They literally wont say race even when theyre giving a suspect description. Everyones either white or they arent white and no details are given. Which seems racist in itself tbh.

https://www.khon2.com/news/local-news/officer-hospitalized-suspect-arrested-on-first-degree-attempted-murder-charge/2032460076

I'm actually surprised. That guy with the sunglasses and slippers helped take down the suspect, but he had to leave, so that picture had to be taken pretty soon after the incident. But I didn't see anyone taking pictures nearby. Another witness and myself were standing a bit more to the left by the speed bump lol.
