Really though, removing Aegon from the story completely changed his character and the writers of the show have no idea how to write intelligent characters when they're not following the book word for word

Rewatching previous seasons...the big dip in quality of story/writing went full steam ahead with season 7 and its mostly due to rushing to the end and hoping fans are content with hollywood blockbuster action scenes.
