i said different types of pasta not that every container has a million pieces in it. I know there are different types of rice like brown, white, and jasmine but pasta has more variety

Bread. Permutations on breads both sweet and savory circling the globe are nearly endless. And by modifying some of your bread recipes you get beer. The regular gathering of nomadic tribes for the baking of bread collectively maintained hearths might actually have brought about the beginning of modern civilization. The baking of bread is older than written language.

I'd go so far as to say pasta is a kind of bread. Semolina flour + eggs = pasta.

Cake can be as simple as flour + sugar + eggs (the classic pound cake). And cake is definitely bread. That's also basically cookies.

Pie crust = flour + salt + leavener + butter + eggs

Like, everything is bread.
