The mother is intentionally killing a life. What happens when you kill someone? You go to jail. It's a pretty straight forward line of logic.

You're boring and wrong. Talk about this with someone entertained by your trolling

I'm not trying to be entertaining. You can say I'm wrong, but that doesn't actually make it true. There is a life being killed intentionally. Nothing about that statement is wrong. Abortion is wrong.

Alabama seems to think so.

That just means they're wrong.

Why exactly?

Because even if we allow that killing the fetus is murder (which is debatable in and of itself), abortion and the killing of the fetus are two independent acts. Abortion is the act of terminating the pregnancy by removing the fetus. That, in and of itself, does not include killing the fetus. The killing of the fetus is simply a method by which abortion can be completed, and is arguably the most humane method available to us at the moment. And since abortion must be permissible in order for us to be morally consistent, it makes sense to choose the most humane course of action.

This ignores all the practical reasons to allow abortion, of course.

Yeah, it's a shame the people behind these bills are such pieces of shit.
It's not a shame at all. People are literally killing a life and getting away with it.
This is going to stop here, because you are never going to convince me that making a fucking 11 year old give birth because of this barbaric, archaic mentality is the morally right thing to do.

Why you do think you giving some outrageous example is going to convince anyone of anything? How many 11 year olds are getting pregnant?

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/ohio-abortion-heartbeat-bill-pregnant-11-year-old-rape-victim-barred-abortion-after-new-ohio-abortion-bill-2019-05-13/
Yes, it's Ohio. But she wouldn't have a choice in Alabama either.

You are all missing the point with this bill.
It is designed to conflict with the U.S. Supreme Courts landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion nationally, because they hope to spark a court case that might prompt the justices to revisit abortion rights.

Basically they dont want to send females to jail for 99 years simply because they had an abortion, they just want the ability to create a law that allows them to do that without having the Supreme Court telling them that they cant do that.
If they get the power to do so, then they will most likely settle with, I dont know, 3-5 years?

It's actually pretty easy to understand. 25 men from the same background are making decisions about women's health care. It stands to reason that this draconian law would not have happened had there been diversity in that pool.

"This bill is about challenging Roe v. Wade"- words of the bill's author

when you're writing legislation that treats people as pawns and deliberately harms them in your larger political crusade, you are a mustache twirling villain

there isn't any point in reasoning with these people. there is no common ground. they don't care about babies once they're born. they don't care about programs that reduce unwanted pregnancies.

the only thing to do is vote their leaders out and never let them win another election again, ever

I'm against abortion, especially after the 1st trimester except in cases of rape, incest or carrying out the pregnancy has a high risk of danger to the mother. That 11 year old definitely deserves to be able to have an abortion seeing as how she hits 2 out of those 3 criteria.
