In the past, video games have sometimes gotten in the way of getting my college work done, with me getting only 70's in those classes.

And just recently, I was trying to register for classes, but I just missed TWO appointments with a career counselor, and so I scheduled another one two days from now at 11:00 am where the deadline for payments for those classes is only 10 hours afterwards.

So have games ever gotten in the way before? What did you do to combat it? I recently just uninstalled the game that has been responsible for it.

I dropped out of high school so I could play more video games.

I definitely procrastinated on schoolwork to play games. Learned my lesson when I got to college.

I just partied instead for awhile.

eh... i mean i definitely played too much wow in college, and it definitely had an adverse effect on my grades, but i ultimately ended up deciding that college wasnt worth it anyways. dropped out, got my A+ certification and joined the workforce.

things went significantly better than they would have if i stayed.

Probably a little. Like, maybe playing a game when I should have studied a little more. But it wasnt Really much worse or anything. I do stay up too late playing games these days sometimes.

Also, what game, TC?

I'd say yes except school bored me and I had no interest in doing the homework anyway.

If I wasn't playing games, I was just listening to music or reading a book.

I basically passed on my tests, never studied and got high test scores. Only screwed me out of 1 credit I needed, and I made that up easily and got the same diploma anyway. But again, not really games so much as hating being at school and being bored. Didn't want to do something from school in my house, I'd 'done my time'.

Plus one time I did my homework once, but used my now-ex's paper because I lost mine and got accused of cheating despite the fact he didn't do his homework because he'd written his name on it in pen and I crossed it out. I get they need to look into potential cheating, but having 2 teachers gang up on me, even after admitting they didn't believe I cheated... And still after I got tired of arguing and said basically 'if I can't convince you, go ahead and punish me for cheating' because I was tired of being ganged up on. Especially after being told they really believed me. This went on far too long, had to have been trying to deter me from something. What are you trying to scare me from? Doing my homework if I lose the paper? Okay... I won't mess with it anymore?

I spent time in grad school when I should have been studying, typing magazine games into my Atari 400. It all worked out okay.
