Light was more justified than Dany was and actually did get some postive results for the world from his evil actions. I can see a very Utilitarian person think his actions are overall good for the collective though abhor his God complex.

Though it quickly became apparent he applied turbo boosters to his sled to zoom down that slippery slope.

I was ready for Dany to burn them all by the end of 8x4... but then they showed a sympathetic side of the common people in 8x5. King's Landing had some pretty vicious mobs in past seasons though. There was the mob that almost raped Sansa in S2, the mob that cheered for Tyrion's death at his trial in S4... the mob in S5 even made me feel a little sorry for Cersei during her Walk of Atonement.

The show so successfully vilified the people of King's Landing up until this point, I don't think it's all that unreasonable to head into 8x5 feeling detached from them and questioning whether they're worth saving. But then the episode answers that question definitively, imo.

Agree'd. And we don't really see much from their perspective until this episode (aside from some brief scenes with Margaery visiting the orphanage in S3, contrasted with the kids shanking Pycelle back in S6). The little girl with the horse figurine in 8x5 is the first time I can remember the show really taking some time to humanize KL. Could be that I'm forgetting some scenes from earlier seasons, but I needed the reminder this episode.

How was an 18 year old with little life experience justified in killing suspected criminals and then a few episodes later just going for killing anyone standing in his way...same as Dany to me

I said more justified(as in comparatively) and aknowledged he was evil and went down the slippery slope.

His Actions did vastly lower crime and eliminate war. He at least tried to make things better(If Only to stroke his own ego and social position.)

I can see someone following an "ends justifies the means" view on him if the net effect of his actions are signifigantly less violence and war that save more than he kills. I don't think I can quite put myself there. 1 person alone cannot hold the power of life and death. Peace could go up in flames the moment his Ego is offended enough and there is always the problem is what is worthy of death changing to become less and less reasonable(He already was planning on eventually offing lazy people and others too)

Dany murdered tens of thousands+ of mostly innocent/coerced people and deprived a million people of shelter during winter because she was angry and egotistical.

Both are evil.

Light is defined as an absolute fucking genius that excels at everything he does. He has intelligence on par with L who is the greatest living detective on the planet. Light says multiple times that the Death Note is a dangerous power but he deludes himself into believing that it was his destiny to receive the book and become a god.

When in actuality he just happened to be at the right place at the right time.

What do you mean worse.

Honestly after he murders L the world doesn't end up too bad.

What about Gendry? He was awesome, and Littlefingers whores were nice. And Robert's bastards. There were always people who were shown as good.

And the "bad" people who cheered for Ned getting killed were literally lied to about it. They thought he was a traitor. In fact he admited to it in front of them to save his daughters.

And then they turned on Joph after he starved them.

And their were two direct times we see stark soldiers being evil, showing there are always good and bad people on both sides.

Wasnt there cults on TV and religions based off Kira due to his actions?

And if you think petty crimes should be punishable by death...lol...not sure its worth a discussion

Also your argument could then be if Dany created a good world after murdering innocents her actions justified the means despite it not having to be a binary choice
