Current Events > Am I the only one that found Endgame boring and overrated? *spoilers*

I was expecting a more dramatic turn of events and the whole movie to be packed with unnerving moments throughout.

Instead we get 1/3 of the movie being on recruiting back the Avengers. Then 1/3 of the movie being on revisiting the past and just going through the old MCU movie scenes like your typical time travel BS. Then only the last 1/3 of the movie we get any actual action going on...using the same old big all-out war scene we see in every other blockbuster finale. By which time they just decide to pack in as many superheroes as they possibly can at the expense of 90% of said characters getting little to no development at all.
Also did it not occur to anyone we didn't even see Hulk or Hawkeye fight at all?

oh like how Captain America fought Captain America for just a couple of minutes...
they were nice. The fights were mild and just lacking for a movie which could have epic intergalactic fight scenes or something.

Infinity War had some amazing fights throughout. But Endgame is literally just a 90% time travel comedic adventure romp and 10% rehashed Wakanda big war scene.

how can you not to yawn through 90% of the movie full of talking and generic time travel shenanigans?

I honestly thought that it was a lot better than Infinity War, and Cap with Mjolnir is one of the GOAT comic book movie scenes

one thing that bothered me, though - after Nebula woke up after passing out, couldn't she just have traveled back to the current timeline rather than try to contact people on the radio to let them know that Thanos knew what was up?

if so, she kinda dropped the ball.

yea, but Thor has always had super strength and other special abilities, so we don't know if he was able to brute force his way to victory or not

Captain America, a superhuman, did better with a hammer that wasn't even his, than Fat Thor, a fucking deity regardless of his weight/slacking off, who had a fucking hammer only he was worthy of, and an axe forged from the power of an exploding star.

There is no justifying that. Stop.

"Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor!"

Also, maybe the fact that he was dual wielding could've proved to be more of a detriment. Stormbreaker is much larger and heavier. Thor himself said that weapons like those can't be held by just anyone because of the strength it requires. Again, he was fat and lacked recent combat experience. Deity or not he was rusty. That paired with the fact that it wasn't a weapon meant to be dual wielded could contribute to his lack of proficiency. Not only could he not use it as effectively as he could have in infinity war, but whatever he was capable of doing with it potentially halved the moment he used it as a single handed weapon.

There was also a difference in combat techniques. There's no doubt that Thor is physically stronger. However he was going up against thanos. If he's simply trying to outmuscle thanos then that could prove to be an ineffective strategy. Cap could've done better against Thanos because he didn't rely on outmuscling his opponent, but perhaps fighting more practically. idk. I'd have to watch it again before trying to defend it any further

Thor wasn't dual wielding while fighting Thanos. Bruh, he wasn't even using stormbreaker. Only reason he got whooped was because he tried to outpower Thanos with it and got that shit smacked away. He threw the hammer at ironman before the fight even began so he was going at Thanos with a weapon he couldn't even use as efficiently

Mostly, like, lightning bolts at least.

Thor was in bad shape and literally just got put out of his couch, still halfway drunk. Cap has stayed in shape this whole time, proper soldier that he is.
