I want a lower cost of living city (I live in Los Angeles)

I'm 28, black male, professional, got a girlfriend, work in software sales though I'm trying to run a business that allows me to quit my job soon.

Things I'm interested in

-Lower cost of living
-Ability to concealed carry
-Legal weed would be nice but not a must have
-Good public transportation would be nice but not necessary
-Don't wanna be surrounded by SJWs
-Decent black population would be nice but not necessary
-City with things to do, even if it's not LA level
-No cold weather

I'm thinking, because of all these things between a few cities in the south/southwest

-Las Vegas
-Houston
-Tampa Bay
-Atlanta
-Fort Lauderdale

What are your thoughts? What say you?

That's possible.

Though I think if I went that route I might as well just do Vegas since they're both desert cities.

Also cheaper flights between Vegas and LA to visit my family and friends.

And i can smoke weed without worrying about some trigger happy copy messing with me.

yea vegas sounds like a really good fit for you. flights are cheap and if you drive to LA its like what, 3hrs?

since you said you do sales you are prob outside sales or have the option of working remote so workwise its solid too, plus you can always just pick up bud from LA every time you visit

Atlanta has a large black population and it's definitely not SJW. Medical Marijuana is allowed, but there are penalties when found with over an ounce without a medical card.

Do you guys go out and bring up politics to everyone you meet?

I'm pretty into politics and I think it comes up maybe once every two weeks at most. It's also far more diverse than "everyone's super liberal".

Then again I live in SD which is more red than most of the state so maybe that's why.

They also have a location in Fredericksburg, VA, but I doubt you'd have any interest moving there.

Get a remote position and live where you want.

I work in an office right now but I want to find a remote position within my company or within another company.

Though I also do some freelancing and have my own business so once my income is enough I can work wherever I want without worrying about a job at all.

Whichever comes first.

I did think about North Carolina as well for the user who mentioned Raleigh. I wouldn't mind Raleigh or Charlotte.

Part of why I'm leaning toward Florida is cuz my girlfriend is from there and she can be closer to her parents but I'm not sure if that's necessarily a positive lol.

Vegas like another dude mentioned makes more sense than Phoenix for me cuz of proximity and easy travel between LA.

After visiting Atlanta a month ago I think that's an option as well.

Oh god Phoenix. No.
If suicidal depression were represented as a city, Phoenix would be it.

I would say Las Vegas. I've heard good things. If it wasn't for the cold weather, which I love, I would say Flagstaff, AZ or the Cedar City region of UT.
