I personally always viewed IT as a mystery horror more than anything else.

I feel like the book was majority coming of age/nostalgia. Like 60/40. And even a lot of the horror was steeped in the coming of age theme.

Bill Hader looks so weird in this. He reminds me of someone.

Also, I was hoping for Chris Pratt to play adult Stanley since the child actor portrayed Peter Quill as a kid.

Makes me wonder why Stan is even there.

Honestly once I heard this had the screenwriter of The Nun that nuked any slight interest I had. Fuck anyone involved with that movie.

And I know he wrote the first IT too, which might explain why it wasn't scary in the least.

Both statements are accurate.

Both scenes are pretty accurate to how they happen in the book *shrug emoji*

Not sure I understand what you're saying.

Maybe he thought you guys were making fun of those scenes.

I wouldn't mind a re-adaptation to those in this new one.

I thought the remake was alright, but nothing tops the original. Pennywise in the original had that mix of hilarity but also being scary. Even when he's being funny you just know he's pure evil. Alot of that has to do with Curry, he was a great choice.

I wonder if that part of the book was actually a subtle dig at Chinese restaurants or something.

The chinese restaurant seemed to be another one of the many points decrying the commercialization of old America. The bastardization of Derry as it had been when they were children.

He should at least be in a few scenes. There's the bathtub suicide after Mike calls, and IT uses his likeness to fuck with the Losers once or twice.

In the trailer Stan is with everyone in Derry. So either Stan isn't going to kill himself or he was just planted in the trailer to screw with us.
