Game says I'm only 75% through the story, is that serious? It just feels like a grind at this point, but I still want to finish because I like the characters and story.

Nah, that's overall completion progress, like getting all the legendary animals and whatnot. That isn't story progress percent.

No, I know there is an overall completion percentage when you save, but there is another story specific percentage in one of the menus.

Well if that says you are 75% through then you are likely 75% through. I don't think the game is lying to you.

You are getting there. I believe you're either on chapter 5 or 6. And there is also the 2 epilogues. I am much like you in the fact that I like to do as much of the side missions as possible. On my first playthrough I got through 82% of the game.
