I blame the schools and the parents of the bullies personally.

The schools because they don't have effective anti-bullying systems in place, and often have policies that make bullying worse. (I'm looking at you zero tolerance fighting policies.)

The parents for rasing racist fuckheads who literally drove a little girl to suicide, which likely means they are racist fuckheads themselves. Kids are excellent mimics, they learn everything from the adults around them and this type of behavior isn't inherited, it is learned...

Now as for why I say zero tolerance policies with regards to fighting don't work; the abusers use them to get the victim in trouble. Eventually the victim is no longer believed because of their record of fighting... This leads to a feeling of hopelessness and helplessness where you just want to end the suffering. For me, it ended by getting pulled out of school. For this poor little girl, it ended with her death. I never personally considered suicide, but I can easily see how someone in that situation could have, and even if they dont, it takes years of therapy to even attempt to get over the trauma. I know I was in therapy all the way from 6th grade to my second year of college. It helped a lot, but even to this day I still have flashbacks when certain conditions are met that are similar to what happened, and that feeling of fear and helplessness takes hold and I just want to do anything I can to get out of the situation.

Fuck bullying, fuck racist assholes, and fuck the school systems that allow this type of abuse to happen.

Thanks for sharing this. My niece is literally going through this exactly. 6th grade, crazy amounts of non stop bullying, no school help. Pisses me off to no end to hear and see her crying every day. Hurts my heart. She will be home schooled soon as well and she also is doing therapy. I'm glad to hear that it has helped you over the years.
