1. You ever lose track of your character, among the chaos, and end up killing yourself because you thought you were at a different area on the stage?

2. How do you set up the left stick? For tilts or smash? I just recently switched it to tilts, as they seem harder to pull off in a pinch. I either take off sprinting and do a dash attack, or end up doing a smash attack.

3. Also, I didn't know until recently that you could disable right stick jump. Godsend, as I got sick of trying to do an up attack while in the air, only to jump past the enemy. Did you know this was possible?

4. Not a question, but more of a tip for bads like me. Hyper armor cards for the spirit board can turn difficult fights into easy mode. Step one, pick Ridley. Step two, equip a high rank spirit and slow hyper armor. Step 3, spam full charge neutral special. Step 5, do up or down (Down if there are multiple enemies on both sides of you) smash when enemy is close. Step 6, profit. (This strategy can adversely make certain fights more difficult, like wind fights, so be advised)

1) This has definitely happened to me multiple times
2) I just use default controls. I haven't experimented with any other setups. Maybe I should.
3) I may try this. I just found out recently from another post on this board. I play as Little Mac most of the time so I'm not trying to do air attacks at all most of the time, but there are a few times where I wish I was more accurate in the air.
4) I might try this for the spirit fights where you have to face 8 metal mega man enemies and Dr. Mario in a stamina match. I don't understand how I'm supposed to win this, but I'll give this strategy a shot.

I'm not sure if I've tried that one. For something like that, you might want to equip a spirit that has KOs heal you (every time you defeat an enemy, you get healed a sizable chunk), and also use a metal killer spirit (do extra damage to metal enemies).

1. Only on big stages like Temple, but I mostly play 1v1.
2. Left stick is default with tap jump on, but I use X/Y for short hops and double jump canceling for Samus, Mewtwo, etc
3. Yes, my right stick is set to tilts so I can use instant reverse aerials and glide tossing. I use a PowerA wireless Gamecube Controller that functions exactly like a Switch pro controller.
4. I'm currently using Bowser with "The Boss" a Throw-type spirit that has increased throw power, and my support spirits are Gyarados (increased atrack for aerials), something from Pikmin that decreases landing lag, and Rock Mario (increases power of punch, kick, and claw atracks). So my Bowser is a powerhouse that is fast, hits hard and side B kills very early.

For controls everything default except tap jump off, a+b smash off, c-stick tilt.

95% of spirit fights are made trivial with the ore club. Even more so combined with currently broken ass Olimar. All you have to do is switch primaries and win. Aside from the few stages where everything is covered by an element or the opponent reflects projectiles, there aren't many that need a different configuration.

Noob question: What's jump canceling?

I can make guesses, but they sound stupid, so probably not what it is.

The right stick does stuff. Default is smash attacks. Go to your controls and you can modify it.

1. I'm sure everyone has this happen occasionally during some of the more chaotic fights.

2. I'd never thought about setting one stick to only be able to do tilt attacks, guess that's an option I hadn't really noticed? Be nice if I could use the right stick for that.

3. I thought stick jump was only on the left stick by default? Either way, I always turn that shit off immediately.

LEFT stick jump, is what I meant. By default, pressing up the left stick causes you to jump, but you can disable this. I find that it is beneficial to disable, because I no longer jump through enemies when trying to do an upward aerial for juggling.

By default, right stick does smash attacks. You can set it to do nothing OR set it up to do tilts.

Right, I use it for quick smashes sometimes but wasn't aware that you could set it to tilts instead. Definitely going to have to try that out next time, thanks.

The right/c-stick is very useful for short hop aerials. You can also set it to tilts, so you can go from a dash straight to an up tilt under a platform, or use a dash attack on an item and jump immediately after to pick up the item, jump, and toss it in any direction. Very good for Link, Snake, and Diddy Kong.
