Look, you've put in the leg work to getting the help you want, the help you believe you deserve, and that's very good. Most people don't even do that and you should be happy and proud that you did do this.

The reactions and actions were not what you expected and made you unhappy. That is unfortunate, and also understandable.

But you need to learn that you cannot control the actions of others, what you think you deserve may not be agreeable with what other people think.

The only thing you are in charge of, and can control is you, what you do, how you think, how you act, how you react.

So you need to accept the fact that getting what you think you deserve is either going to be an uphill battle, or it's not going to happen. These seem to be the two outcomes at this point.
Knowing this is the reality, it does you no good to get upset about your situation, and if you can't not be upset about your situation it's up to you to make a change in your life that makes it better, whether it be a mentality shift, a look for different employment, that's not something I can tell you.
But you're miserable where you are and you have tried to do some things to make it better, but those haven't worked.
Just accepting your misery is a terrible choice and you need to think up new strategies to at least be content with where you are in life. You don't get to have things just because you ask for them, and when you don't, consider empathizing the other side on why that may be. If you find yourself unable to do this then maybe they are just treating you poorly and you can accept that's the way your life will be or you can move on to a new opportunity.

Just sitting around being miserable about the status quo that is your life is not doing anyone any good.

Instead of shitposting on gamefaqs when you finish your obligations, you should have found productive things to do. That's why he hates you

I have asked everybody in this building if there was any work I can help them with when I had downtime.

To the point where I felt like I was annoying them

So you have too much time on your hands and arent very good at your job and need guidance.

Companies arent interested in training their employees so much Im afraid. What you should be doing during your down time is more self development. Read books or articles, ask your coworkers for help or ask if you can assist them. Then you can shadow them and learn.

Just because you finished what you were meant to do for the day doesnt give you a free pass to dick around. When my days are slow I try taking up side projects. Things that can help our processes be more efficient or ways I can help others.

Try to find a project related to work that will fill the time and give you self-fulfillment.

Try and get fired for something related to performance or being a bad fit. You can show your records of your performance and a bad fit isnt a valid reason to fire someone after 3 years. Do that and collect unemployment until you find something that pays $70k again.

terrible advice, having been fired will be terrible for job hunting.

really what you want to be doing in tc's situation is to kick it into high gear to avoid getting on a PIP, and then spend every single day at home applying for jobs like a madman. then quit once you get an offer or honestly have a few solid leads because post-burnout survival mode productivity isnt long term sustainable. i dont think hes going to salvage his job at the current company at this point so the focus should be on the next job. can probably get a higher salary too somewhere else

clear what kind of engineering do you do?

I wouldnt say that its terrible advice, seeing that tc getting fired or laid off will be inevitable. Might as well make the most of it.

Im assuming hes already putting out his resume and has his current job listed from start to current. When a new potential employer asks if they can call them you tell them no, because you are still employed and it would look bad. They can call references and previous employers but certainly not his most current one.

If new employer asks why hes leaving just say some ambiguous shit about Im not seeing my full potential there.

Much softer way of saying

Im leaving because its a soul draining job, I finish my work, spin in a chair for the next 7 and a half hours and get bitched at for being done with my work and I got fucked with my Christmas bonus. It was one step above an iTunes giftcard. I want to work somewhere where I can make a meaningful contribution and my work is actually appreciated.

UPDATE: So yesterday my boss said he would absolutely take time to speak with me today about my performance, he has yet to do so and has given zero indication that it will happen. He is literally going to ignore me again. Everything that comes out of his mouth is a lie.

I have, it actually feels way better than grinding out the busy work I'm assigned.

I did this a year ago, even wrote on my resume *DO NOT CONTACT CURRENT EMPLOYER* and I'm pretty sure they did anyway, which is why my boss gave me a 10k raise out of nowhere without explanation.

I had the choice of a $1500 bonus or a $3000/y raise.

Clearly, I chose the raise.

Update:

My boss formally withdrew the reprimand

However, he kept my bonus pitifully low despite the fact that he determined it under the presumption that the reprimand was fair and that I would accept it

Your company sounds ridiculous

If they've gone to the point of writing you up, you can guarantee there was a longstanding issue they had with you and finally decided to put their foot down. I find it absurd that you can have a meltdown and "protest" your performance issues and then they just withdraw it.

Carry on though.

because you were new. When you're new you have to make an effort to get to know people. Don't expect everyone to come to you.

I didn't have a meltdown, I told them both that I'm open to their criticisms and wanted their feedback so I can improve my performance. All I did was listen to them both and hear what they had to say.

I'm not a dumbass, throwing a hussy fit and crying won't help me or anybody. Whenever you push someone they instinctively push right back.

Uh.

I feel like being new means my boss should make an effort to come to me and guide me about work I know absolutely nothing about.

I think mentorship is a valid thing to ask for

That's like saying to somebody "stop feeling depressed," that's not how it works.

Does it really matter?

You can just pout and cry your warnings away at your daycare-like work environment and carry on doing nothing at work.
