That's pessimistic Perhaps but it's what all Hollywood blockbusters have shifted towards. I enjoy some of it but it's just so invasive at this point. Let's go through the list, shall we.. Captain Marvel - Does not look good. I don't care about the character. If I watch it'll only be for Nick Fury. Avengers: Endgame - Infinity War is the apex of modern comic book movies so I'll watch this, sure. I really hope Thanos doesn't meet his end in a really stupid way though. Dumbo - No. Shazam - It looks like they're open to turning superhero tropes on their heads so this could be enjoyable. Aladdin - HELL NO. Dark Phoenix - This has been in development hell forever. Gonna be a shitfest. Toy Story 4 - This is just plain unnecessary and a cashgrab. TS3 ended the trilogy perfectly. Spider-Man: Far From Home - I didn't like Homecoming very much so I'm not particularly jumping to see this one. The Lion King - Visually impressive but it looks to be a complete retread of the original. I don't really want to support Disney's business practices being akin to just repainting an old antique with a shiny new coat. Frozen 2 - Didn't like Frozen so no. Star Wars: Episode IX - Star Wars is in perhaps the worst spot it's ever been. It's not that the Disney Star Wars movies are bad... they just make me not care. Part one was everything I want, but the comic story won't work for follow up, so I'm not sure where to go or how it'll all work out. Dumbo - meh. May borrow a DVD from the library just to see what changed. Shazam - ugh. I expect it to work in the end, but what we've seen is largely "adults say stupid things" and it makes my head hurt. Aladdin - Not hopeful. It may be good, or could be the "watch Will Smith act like his old Fresh Prince persona". Dark Phoenix - be more interested if they were going to keep to the original, you know, with hellfire club being a sex club. Toy Story 4 - Can I just say I think Pixar is over rated and leave it at that? Spider-Man: Far From Home - Homecoming made vulture work, but missed the point of Peter Parker. Im not saying that some of the remakes dont seem interesting, but why is everything a besides the superheroes a remake?
