I think it's bizarre. One of my friends works full time and doesn't have a license... Her husband has to drive her to work every day. She is in her early 30s I think.

I think it's fine. I'm 28 with no intention of learning. Although I don't think my health has ever been good enough for me to drive and I'm pretty sure now I wouldn't legally be allowed to.

I'd say it's unusual and unless you live in a major city it must fairly significantly restrict your general freedoms and social options.

Worth bearing in mind that some people can't for medical conditions, though. My friend has fairly dormant epilepsy but the last time she had a fit years ago she couldn't get her licence back until she went something like 18 months without another one.

I find it odd but I have no negative thoughts towards the person. Its just that Ive been driving for so long and the convenience has gotten to a point where I cant imagine not being able to so I guess I just project that potential reality onto them. Im sure people who dont drive have things figured out for themselves.

Yeah it's pretty foolish.

I have a roommate like this because his family couldn't be bothered to teach him. They also couldn't be bothered to teach him how to ride a bike. He was too busy doing absolutely nothing but play video games in his room all day for most of his life.

Im on SSI so I can go days without needing a ride anywhere. Then I just tell my sisters who live less than a mile away to let me know when they're making a grocery store run.

I can feel that. Nothing wrong with wanting a better way for people. I admit sometimes I really want to get out the house and with Michigan winters that's not always an option. Or if my back is being especially difficult that day.

There's no problem with it whatsoever unless you're just a weird git who doesn't wanna learn and have everyone else just drive you around everywhere

Though you should get a license anyway if you live in the USA, it's handy to have as it acts as your ID for when you get carded for buying age-restricted stuff or voting

If you're gonna go to the trouble of getting an ID, you might as well get a driver's license

you won't get cashiers looking at it all confused for a while because they never see things that aren't drivers licenses

plus, you know, it lets you drive, which is practically mandatory in the USA except for huge cities with good mass transit

I'm in NYC, so it's absolutely normal out here. Some just never learn because it's not efficient to own a car for them.

I know people in their 50s+ like that.

This post is dumb man. It's not like you just go and pick between a drivers license or regular ID. And cashiers have no struggle with IDs.

you should still get your license. it's useful to have because you can drive other people in certain situations like a trip to the hospital or they drank too much

So is cooking. But a lot people choose to not do that. They choose the alternative of eating stuff less tasty and way worse for you lol. Plus like I said, it gives me anxiety. If people seemed annoyed with me Id probably do it. Now, It's mostly cause Im fuckin broke.
