Never played Casual mode but I've always reset if someone I liked died. Either way it sounds like casual mode just makes the game like Shining Force except not having to pay to revive them.

If you're just going to reset any time someone dies you should just play casual.

Factually untrue.

You can just suicide units in order to deal damage heedless of their survival in Casual. You can't do that with permadeath.

I don't know why this topic has gone so long.

There seems to be an argument that if you're playing Casual and you play exactly like a resetter does on Classic, then you're playing the same game. This is true. But then of course, you're not taking advantage of the very fact that you are playing Casual.

A Classic Player is playing a different game than a Casual Player. For a Casual Player resetting if anyone dies is a self-imposed rule. For a Classic Player this is a choice of whether to do so or simply suffer through not having that character.

It's called Casual for a reason. It's easy mode. It's for people who want to play on easy mode. You're playing easy mode. No amount of projecting on people playing Classic Mode and debating how they have to play is going to change that.

What FE needs instead of Casual mode is easy mode. I would be ok with resetting after a unit death if I didn't have seventy unit deaths per chapter.

Maybe the newer ones have such a thing but the older ones pissed me off so much that I really wasn't interested in playing the newer ones.

You're confusing "perpetually reset until you achieve a perfect result" with "never load a game unless your main lord dies"

Classic with resets is the same goddamn thing as Casual. One just takes more time and can suck the fun out.

It's not the same thing lol

One you're completing with everyone and the other you're completing regardless if someone dies or not

This topic makes me understand why some FE players do hate on casual mode players. There's a weird sense of superiority the casual players are trying to display with their lack of game knowledge.

casual elitism has very much become a thing

it's most evident with series like smash bros but it's everywhere in varying capacities

This is literally a topic where you're complaining about how casual players are mistreated, but in this topic, it's the casual players telling the classic players how to play.

It's like... a complete lack of self awareness. "If you're going to reset, you might as well play casual". There's weird sort of disrespect coupled with being a victim for what seems to be no reason.

I thought I misunderstood you at first, so I apologized, but it seems like the sentiments from the casual players are exactly what I thought they were.
