i work with this super nice lady, and whenever i see her irl she asks how im doing and cares about my personal life

Just reply and spell their name wrong too. And every time they send you another email with your name wrong, add another letter to their misspelled name. Pretty soon John Brown will be Ghogn Pruoun't.

I used to work with this guy called Geoff and I literally called him G-Off but it turns out his name was Jeff so I called him G-Off for two years and he never not once corrected me but now that I know his name is Jeff I can't just start calling him Jeff after years of G-Off.
