I've had mine for almost 3 years and it's running strong. I got the T460, immediately upgraded my harddrive to a 500gb SSD I bought online and upgraded the ram to 16gb. I've never reformated my drive, laptop has been running strong with no technical issues whatsoever.
The only thing I want for it is a new external battery that I can exchange, preferably the larger one, so that if I go out with my laptop, I never need to even plug it in. I've previously had Acer, Asus, Dell, and HP and they've all broken down after about 2 years. I tried a macbook and I couldn't stand it. PC for life. I have an ASUS ROG laptop that currently has a cracked hinge and a dead (stock) 1TB platter drive, waiting to be shipped out for an RMA
also my Macbook Pro had to be serviced three times throughout its life: the logic board fried itself, the battery started failing, and the keyboard lights stopped working. the $350 AppleCare warranty actually paid for itself, which speaks volumes --- Join the Nintendo Fun Club today, Mac! ... my wife had an asus, lasted her several years actually. I got her the lenovo yoga thinking, its sleek looking, solid numbers, and touch-screen. But the keyboard layout is stupid as hell, and she's always running into problems with it. Next laptop she gets is gonna be a thinkpad with after-market upgrades like mine. And whats best, if any of these parts get messed up, its very easy to buy DIY replacements.

While we're at it, I'm looking to buy 15.6 inch laptop with a 1 TB HDD, Full HD screen, and 8 GB RAM minimum. What are some good options without going over $1000 CAD?

Lenovo can't be trusted. They are constantly caught installing spyware on their machines.

Lenovo can't be trusted. They are constantly caught installing spyware on their machines. Its not even about trust. First thing I did was install a fresh windows 10 copy. Theres zero lenovo software on my laptop. Beyond that their hardware is top notch. --- literally the pacers ... Copied to Clipboard!

Itoldyaso posted...Lenovo can't be trusted. They are constantly caught installing spyware on their machines. I recall reading that Lenovo's spyware is built into their onboard firmware. Reinstall Windows doesn't do anything because the firmware will just reinject the malware into the windows installation again. Lenovo only released the patch to completely remove it after they got their asses sued, but obviously the only surefire way is to go with Linux or BSD's. --- https://imgur.com/yAfcocG Will only join the PS4 family when Sony implements username change ... I've always been distrustful of Lenovo because they're always seeming to be in the news for having included some sort of spyware in their firmware
I'd go with Asus tbh --- ... Copied to Clipboard!
