As the most objective and insightful user here, I am going to post what have been the most telling results which will leave long-lasting impacts on these contests moving forward. No fluff, let's go:

Link- We all knew he was going to win. But in a field where his normal "competition" grew weaker over the years, he not only maintained his strength but actually grew stronger. There is nary a character that can even score over 40% on this man, he's in a league of his own. Wow. As long as he is in a bracket, we are all being jipped out of potential good match-ups between other characters. Dont let this man in anymore brackets, stick him in the bonus match at the end and call it a day.

Cloud- For the most part, people knew FF would drop, especially FFVII. Contrary to that stance, Cloud hasn't fallen off that much. He can still bury most N9 members, but is no longer a juggernaut. With that being said, Cloud heard all the naysayers bash him. He scoffed at it. Although he is not guaranteed a victory against all but Link anymore, he showed up big time in this tournament. Perhaps he got lucky with how the bracket placement unfolded toward the end, but he still made a statement. His match against Mario was one for the ages. All the momentum was against him, Nintendo was looking stronger than ever, and Cloud somehow made it to a rematch with the plumber who stole a victory. After all those years where Rally Mario ended Clouds bid for victory in the first tournament, Cloud exacted his vengeance. Sure, he got mollywhopped by Link right after, but thats beside the point. Cloud emerged victorious when everyone wrote him off quicker than their taxes.

Mario- The smart pre-contest pick for the Losers Champion. In a contest where Nintendo dominated and Odyssey was received very well, Mario didn't disappoint. That is, until we saw his SFF Vacuum Ability disintegrate. Barely beating Samus before being ousted by Zelda, Mario next performed his clutchest performance yet. He had a nail-biter remath with Samus that literally came down to the final update. He, being King Nintendo himself, reigned supreme. Good on him for that, but he still lost to Zelda. In fairness, this was an OP Zelda who got stronger with each match. Mario would end up doing his damnedest to get revenge on her, but he fell just short on Cloud. Such is life. All in all, contrary to what others may say, Mario disappointed. It was finals or bust for him pre-contest, and he did not reap the Nintendo wave enough to get him to the finals, let alone even the most out of the other Nintendo cohorts.

Samus- What a contest for her. There is a lot of talk about indirect vs. direct strength when it comes to the Nintendo hierarchy. The reality is Samus is stronger than everyone except Link. She technically lost to Mario twice but would beat anyone else that he would by more than he would. She also received more votes than he did in that second match. She at last climbed over the barrier of Nintendo SFF Vacuum Mario even in her loss, and she did this without a recent game. It is difficult to realistically believe that a new game will make her any stronger than she has been in this contest, but you never know. Many will speculate whether she would have beaten Cloud and/or Zelda. The answer is yes.

Crono- An absolute amazing showing for this guy. Everybody talked about how he has not had a new game in two decades, is not in Smash, blah blah blah. Many people had him losing first round in the Legends bracket and he was arguably the weakest N9 character pre-contest. Despite all that, Crono showed that Chrono Trigger's performance last Games contest was no fluke. First he ousted King Koopa himself, who many pegged as a rally favorite due to Bowsette, before losing to Cloud. That loss was expected. But he later battled Mega Man. This would be the test for him. In his heyday, Crono would mop the floor with this guy. But since then, Mega Man has been included in Smash and was featured in several games. And in a contest where any Smash character reaped a 10% boost, Crono still took him down. It was one of the closer matches we had and although Crono was the underdog, he found yet another way to win a 51/49 match. Has any other entrant consistently provided so many close matches? Regardless, he withstood the test of time and once he is revealed in Smash, he will skyrocket to Samus-level.

Mega Man- Much of what can be said about him is included in Crono's write-up. Except for his epic battles with Pikachu. Everyone knew Pokefear was a thing, and once the bracket revealed Mega Man as the poor soul facing the dreaded rat, it was anyone's guess as toward who would prevail. Most people sided with Mega Man, even as the contest unfolded, and boy did the match live up to the hype. A nail-biting affair, it came down to the final hour. In the end, Pikachu came out on top. But this was not the end of it. Due to the format of the Losers bracket, these two were destined to meet again. In yet another good but not-as-close affair, Mega Man exacted revenge. Call it rallying against Pokemon, or Mega Man fans realizing they couldn't chance a Pikachu vote this time around, or whatever...Mega Man got the last laugh. The jury is still out on who is actually stronger, but that's a question that can only be answered with another contest down the road. One must wonder though, did Smash even affect his strength? It sure didnt seem like it. Such wasted potential.

Pikachu- There were several Pokmon representatives in this contest. But for whatever reason, Pikachu has the most strength and support. His performances in contests past indicated that he would be the leading candidate for the N9 Breaker. He tore through his side of the main bracket before ultimately meeting with Mega Man. I wrote about it already in Mega Mans bio, but golly, this rat did damage. Despite the narrow victory, despite people saying it would happen, despite it allthis was a telling victory for Pikachu. Sadly, it was a short-lived one as he promptly got swallowed by Link and then dropped the ball on Mega Man part two. Nonetheless, it accomplished what it set out to do: defeat a member of the N9 (asterisk: total vote count).

Mega Man X-The bracket came out and he was set to battle Tifa in the semi-finals in his division. A division where neither of them were the one seed. A division where Luigi drew the long straw to have a free ride to the division finals, only to be defeated by whomever won between these two. Pre-contest, X was the favorite. As the contest continued and Final Fantasys decline became apparent, he remained the favorite. The match came and it was a lot closer than most anticipated. The match went back and forth for hours. It all came down to the literal final hour when the controversial hentai-rallying began. Whether it played a significant remains up for debate, but this match had monumental impacts as it would later set up Tifa to defeat Sephiroth. Oh, and the questions still remains. Who is stronger, Mega Man or X, and should they both be included in a bracket? I dont know, and no. Regardless, X showed that he is a force to be reckoned with, despite his early exit.

Zelda- Jesus. Where do I begin? Pre-contest, many said she wouldnt defeat Squall. And even if she did, she wouldnt be Sonic. The bandwagon stopped there because nobody expected her to make it any further. Then her first few matches came along and it was apparent that she was going to win her division. Once she put a clinic on Squall, she became the favorite to defeat Sonic. But people did not want to admit it. Once she beat Sonic, everyone said shed lose to Solid Snake. Then she beat him too. Then she even beat big brother Mario! She simply did not know how to lose. When she went against Link, she was beating him for the first several updates! The biggest surprise is that she lost to Cloud. It was clear that her strength increased with each match, just barely enough for her to squeak out victories, but not enough for her to make it to the finals and get bodied by her lover. Perhaps it was for the best.

Tifa- Was there a single person who thought that she was going to defeat Sephiroth? Did anyone actually have that in their bracket? Would Mega Man X have done what Tifa did had he beaten her? Who knows. Everyone said FFVII was on the decline and all its characters were doomed. Well, Tifa must have been wearing some Ignore Defense armor when facing her competition this contest as she lollygagged her way through her division. Her reward was a ticket to Ladies Night Out with second-strongest-in-the-server Samus. She lost. But thats okay, because she would then go up against Sephiroth. And we all know how that ended. She reigned supreme and became the strongest character in FFVII not named Cloud. She would later want to get handsy with Samus on their second date, but Samus closed the door on that just as promptly as the first time. It would have been nice to see how Tifa fared against some of the other Noble Niners, but such is the way of a contest. Remember, everyone was anti-Final Fantasy regarding its characters performance pre-contest. Tifa, like Cloud, scoffed.

Sephiroth- You know who didnt scoff? This guy. Although he completely annihilated his competition pre-Legends bracket, he completely dropped the ball in the Losers bracket. He first went against Mario, his personal whipping boy back in the day, and utterly got murked. This one wasnt even remotely close. To put this one into perspective, Mario did to Sephiroth what Sephiroth did to Ryu. How does that make sense? Anyway, Sephiroths next match would be against Tifa. Surely, he who only finished in the top five in every contest ever would win this match, right? Against a female from the same game as him, right? Wrong. Whether there was some funky form of rSFF or SJW or whatever, this is one of the most humiliating defeats of all-time. He still isnt the weakest Noble Niner, but jeez, this was a contest Sephiroth will like to forget.

Sonic- Speaking of weakest Noble Niner, here he is. First losing to steamroll edition Zelda (in a not-close match), he then lost to a very weakened Solid Snake (also in a not-close match). Not only is Sonic the weakest Noble Nine member, he would also lose to everyone else on this list. Im being objective and am never wrong, remember? This is all in spite of the facts that Sonic is in Smash has a rolodex of games that always seem to come out but are never good. Remember when he used to be able to compete with Samus? It was a decade and a half ago. Nowadays, the blue streak is nothing but a skidmark.

Solid Snake- The pre-contest favorite to win the coveted Links Final Victim Award. Spoilers, he never faced Link. First he got upset by Zelda which took away a lot of his credibility, perhaps undeservingly. He bounced back with an impressive performance against Sonic, thus but a victory over Skidmark Sonic is really not something to be proud of, but then he got embarrassed by Samus. To be fair, as Ive said before, Samus is second strongest. But a 56/44 losing performance on anyone but Link is also nothing to be proud of. Snake once got 46% on Link, remember. He and Sephiroth can have a get together to see which one fell off the most.

One of the biggest takeaways is the registered user vote bonus. It was intended to prevent rallied, but it ended up only swaying late-round matches. Pikachu vs. Megaman and Samus vs. Mario are the obvious ones. These had major implications not only in the main bracket and leaderboard, but also on the Losers bracket. SBAllen is not to blame for this, and it goes to show that there is no solution to rallying. Speaking of which, all in all there was only minor rallying going on in this contest. We learned to be fearful of rallies. Many people, though in the minority, took their shots at predicting who this contest's rally monster might be, but in the end there wasn't a major one. However, one form of rallying that garnered the most attention was that of the hentai variety...you can be your own judge on how that reflects on our community.

This is my final topic on this cesspool board. I'll be back for the next contest. And if you see me on another board, look the other way.

Her match with Snake was before the Sonic one. No one expected Sonic to have a chance against the winner of Zelda/Snake.

I don't see X > Mega Man happening ever in the future. Maybe it could have happened before MM made it into Smash 4, but no way now. Especially if it is one of multiple polls running, since apathy votes would definitely favour Mega Man.
