Not that this feature means a whole lot because I can easily set the time and its fairly accurate as it is. enough for my purposes.

However I want to recieve a radio signal because it would give me the official time which is cool and its a neat function.

It syncs the time up with Fort Collins, CO. i live 1,400 miles away but thats within the 2,000 mile range for radio signal, but outside of the 600 mile range for great signal.

This is weird and i dont know what to do, however the manual for it lists like 5,000 things that could interfere with signal.

its like I want this to work but at the same time its no big deal.

I take mine off at night and leave it sitting on the windowsill, pointed towards the window. That seems to work fine, and I'm over 1400 miles away from Fort Collins.

Is there anyone who you could ask? Like a specialist of some kind?

What kind is it? Mines a casio pro trek prw 3500

ive tried doing it through a window and even outside. night and day. even when it alternates between 2 and 3 signal(medium/high) when its locating all I get is ERR.

And no, nobody to ask. I do have the tome of a manual, though.

I've always liked their manauals. nice and compact but highly detailed and well written. concise and to the point, and they always thank you for buying their product.

That might be a japanese thing, because im pretty sure my nissan sentra manual from 1997 told me i made a wise choice upon purchasing a nissan, which i'd agree with. bare bones car but intelligently designed.

the manual says metal objects can interfere with the signal, but it wants me to point it out a window, right next to the metal frame of the window.

This might just be a coincidence, but my atomic watch has also been having trouble synching up.

Mine's a Casio G-Shock GW-7900. The calibration signal is received hourly between Midnight and 5am, and sometimes it can take a few tries to successfully receive the signal. I've found it's best to just leave it alone on my windowsill without touching it or moving it around, and it usually picks up the signal within the first couple tries.

(Although, Trump's requested NIST budget includes shutting down the Fort Collins time broadcasts in FY2019, but whether Congress actually pays attention to that or not is still up in the air.)

This is really the way to use these things. Just don't worry about it, and if it happens to get a signal at some point then it will use it.

One thing to keep in mind though, which probably didn't apply here since you said you'd already been using it regularly anyway, but sometimes devices that are supposed to set time automatically can get confused if they aren't already set to the correct date.
