I need something to play until Christmas when I get smash and just grind it forever. I have all the games because of EA access. Is it like Mass Effect?

I haven't played it but what I understand is it's literally Mass Effect in fantasy instead of sci fi

2 is... let's just say 2 could've been much better.

Only thing I don't like with DA iin general s it doesn't have NG+ in none of 'em.

Origins is great, 2 is weak, inquisition is great. The complete version with all dlc is cheap as fuck.

Origins is more like KOTOR if you played that. It's great. I'd play that first.

If you start with it, it may not be that bad.

Short version is the combat was dumped from the first game for a more action oriented combat system, that was far from perfected. All areas looks the same. Quests and such are terrible. One big boring hub world.

Inquisition takes the combat from 2 and perfects it, imo.

2 does have LOTS of issues, but the characters are pretty great still and does have many wonderful moments. The lack of time really shows though sadly, but with what little time they had they really did do great I feel.

They used the same dungeon so many times. It had its moments, but damn that was lazy. I beat origins 4-5 times but gave this up after like 10 hours. It's not horrible but it's the worst in the series easily. It's the dark souls 2 of the dragon age series.

Edit : looking it up now, origins had 6 years to be made. 3 years with a small team to make the world and the lore, then 3 with a full team to make the actual game. 2 had 1 year of development. Inquisition had 2 at first then extended to 3 to have more quests and romance options.

Origins is amazing. One of the best RPGs ever made

2 is good. LOTs of flaws and way worse than Origins. But pretty good.

Inquisition is better than 2 but worse than 1. Lots of filler.

If you like RPGs at all then play Origins. It's great and cheap
