When I stopped getting presents under the tree marked "from Santa." It was more a convenience thing than anything. Like I had realized a lot of things about the story made no sense but he kept getting my letters so I kept writing them. Eventually my parents wised up, apparently.

As early as I can remember I wondered why the story said Santa's elves make toys at the North Pole when he clearly bought them from Fisher-Price. As I got older I realized you would die if you ate 20 billion cookies.

Technically I never believed in Santa because here we have the Three Wise Men (biblical Magi) instead. But my parents told me they weren't real when I was 12.

I don't see how that's funny, but laugh away I guess. As far as I know it's quite common in my country for parents to keep the illusion alive as long as they comfortably can.

My parents never tried to convince me, probably didnt want to distract from the religious meaning of the holiday. We had Santa decorations and watched movies and stuff with Santa but it was always clearly fake and just for fun.

My wife really wants to push the Santa thing on our daughter but I just think its dumb. >_>

I kinda agree with this. But it's more about honesty and trust. First of all, if you actually (try to) convince them Santa is real, you're lying. Secondly, you're setting them up to not believe what you tell them.

We're going to be honest with Baby DevsBro about Santa and the Easter Bunny. We can still have fun with it though.

Santa is at least a dude so it makes sense. A bunny? How in the world?! And if you go to see him at the mall or whatever, clearly guy in suit. At least a guy in a Santa suit *can* be real.
