The confirmation would be if a brand new Crash did well but I can't help but feel that CTR wouldn't be happening if the reception for the N. Sane trilogy wasn't as strong as it was.

they'll probably pop out a game called "Crash Bandicoot 4" and it'll get the usual hyped anticipation with game jurnos going "OHH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD ITS GONNA BE JUST LIKE THE OLD CRASH GAMES!!!!! IM BACK TO MY CHILDHOOD" and then it's gonna be mediocre/bad and then crash will drift back into obscurity

and literally nobody will consider that Activision's behind Crash now, and remember what a trainwreck Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 was, and tweak their expectations accordingly

this is how the world of video games is, a perpetual cycle of nostalgic cash-ins, building incredible amounts of hype around their product, only for it to be a wet fart on release, with no incentive to actually try better next time since the customer base as a whole seems to have the memory of a magpie and gets bamboozled every time

also there will be a lot of "Is this an out-of-season April Fool's joke?" jokes being posted everywhere, since it's Activision

There's a big difference remaking good games and making your own. Activision have only proved that they could do one of them so far. The stuff they were making up to 2008 don't leave me very hopeful they can do the latter.

You know, they had 2 dev teams working on the game (one of them did the port but still)

You'd think that they'd maybe learn about what made the level design of the original trilogy so great doing that, but who knows

I wonder if they'll make another party game like Crash Bash.

It's possible.

I think the hardest challenge for a new game is to match the content in the Crash Trilogy in general. That has over 75 levels.
