the liberal party has destroyed australias future through many things theyve done over the past few years. the labor party has been too weak to oppose them, and in fact even supported the new anti-encryption law that passed today. theres an exceedingly low chance of anyone of than these two parties ever winning an election, so australia is perma fucked

some key things:

1) The "national broadband network" was supposed to bring fiber internet to most of australia. once the liberals took over, they changed the plan. it cost more, took longer, and is copper instead of fibre. so we payed hundreds of millions of dollars to dig up copper and just put copper back in. and i doubt we will get an "nbn, round 2" for at least a decade. also, for most people its actually worse than before

2) they just passed an anti-encryption law that requires any company in australia to hand over encryption keys or a backdoor to allow the government to intercept and decrypt any data they transmit or store. to anyone who knows what encryption is, this is some bullshit. this is a test for the five eyes so expect to see this in america soon. of course, the government allowed themselves to be exempt from this new law. and, of course, anti-corruption watchdogs have been barred from looking into this essentially

3) i cant remember the exact details but theyve basically given away hundreds of millions of dollars to various corporations for basically no reason. likely were bribed, or are securing their own income after they "retire"

theres so much other shit that i dont even keep track of it anymore. australia is fucked

and yes i know NZ and canada are part of the five eyes, but where tf is there else to immigrate to. japan has its own problems, im not gonna move to like africa or anything for obvious reasons
