The Confederacy was a "government" that was made for the rich so they could keep their slave fucking labor and not have to pay someone to pick their crops or get off their fat asses and do it themselves.

It's not a surprise that conservatives love it. That's their dream system. Both the Confederates and the Republican party took/take advantage of the common person's nationalism, bigotry, xenophobia, and religious views to deflect from how the rich are currently running the whole show and fucking everyone else.

Why shouldn't we have Confederate monuments at the place that was HQ of the Confederacy? We have a bunch of monuments and museums devoted to Jazz musicians, freed slaves, African culture and the like. But those apparently aren't enough or count for some reason as we must strip the city of their heroes monuments to make ot count or else people like you will cry yourselves to sleep every night thinking of how evil white people are and how they must pay for their sins

Honoring their brutality is much more important than commemorating those that suffered under them.

I don't know but it's hilarious this guy thinks a city that is majority black actually wanted those statues around. Everyone I know who even had an opinion on it wanted it gone regardless of their race

I feel like we should probably let these anti-Confederate protesters about the storming of the Bastille in case they want in on that one too.

Most of these statues were put up after the civil war so it should be up to us black folk if they stand or not since they were used to denigrate us. These statues are literally revisionist history anyhow.

That's the most hilarious part. It's like the folks in neighboring towns in my area that were mad that our school district changed the names of a couple of elementary schools from Robert E. Lee and Dick Dowling to something else, and my hometown is mostly black and Hispanic. We were all like "fuck off, you don't even live here". That's like expecting a school with a mostly Jewish population to be cool with having the school named after Heinrich Himmler, no.
