In 2018 (almost 2019) there isn't really any good reason to leave your house:

- You can't really walk anywhere because the streets aren't safe anymore (gang activity, UV rays, insect or wild animal attacks, random acts of violence)

- Any other form of transportation is a disaster:
Cars: Car drivers drive like maniacs these days, life is at risk every time you drive
Trains: Not practical, not available often, derail all the time
Public transportation: High chance of getting mugged, attacked, killed
Planes: Unsafest form of transportation, planes dropping out of the sky all the time, life is in jeopardy on these

- With the internet you don't need to leave:
Food: ubereats can bring mcdonalds to you
Jobs: Can be done over the internet
Socialization: Can all be computer based

Depends where you are really. As long as you're not stupid (eg: don't go out in the middle of the night on Friday / Saturday near a bar in a low-income area while wearing a shirt with nothing but a list of racial slurs on it... in fact maybe don't wear the shirt full stop), a lot of areas are still pretty safe, really.

Highly depend on where you live. I can walk around 11PM no problemo here in Australia. Drivers are so safe that I can just bike on the road public transport is safe and no, plane crashes are not as common that "planes are dropping out of the sky all the time" (although plane rides are shitty anyway so I kinda agree on this one).
