No PS classics sold at my Walmart yet.

Looks like maybe people realized it's not worth it at all.

They could have made bank on the thing if the game list was better, they improved the interface, gave more than one save per game, etc.

The only ones to buy them at our store are the scalpers who use their tax exception card and charge almost double what they paid for them.

Yup. Like where is crash? Spyro? SOTN? etc. So many games that should be included that aren't.

And no dualshocks? Like I get the reasoning, but DS improved on the original controllers so much. I remember when my friend got ape escape. It blew our minds how well the game controlled.

Of course, that's probably why there's no dualshock controllers packed-in.

Except the emulation itself is shitty

https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2018-playstation-classic-review

A lot of games run 20% slower than normal. The visuals are blurry. There's tons of judder. Some games (RR4) have slowdown that didn't on the original PlayStation.

The reason games run 20% is because they are the PAL version which yes were slower then the NTSC version.

To play videogames with, right along the tiny NES, SNES, and Neo-Geo minis I didn't need either. May even pick up a C64.

Maybe, *maybe* if they are as easily hacked as the NES and SNES Classic I'll pick one up eventually, but the included game list is pretty terrible, and even if you can add games I assume you are stuck with the junky original PS1 controller.

It's using an open source emulator rather than one made by Sony themselves. There is zero point in using this thing for hacking purposes.
