Specifically, hair styling. From my CS internships, the pay is good with relaxed work environments, but I always felt that the creativity side and human-interaction component is very lacking. Most of the time, I am working alone in isolation to get the job done --- it's not appreciative and stimulating, even when developing graphics shaders and 3D modeling.

Most styling schools are only 1 year, which doesn't seem long at all, and they only require a HS diploma and motivation-assessment interview. Although, the biggest barrier is convincing my parents about this, who already spend $30k for my education.

Should I take the initiative and switch, or is financial security more important?

you can be a hair stylist once u make enough of your own damn money and see if its worth all the opportunity cost and the real cost.

Why dont you do CS as a main career and hair styling in your free time? Its a good comprise.

Then you're doing it wrong or at the very least don't have the experience in providing for clients and working on a team.

I wish i had the white privilage to splurge on education while my parents pay for it. Instead im thousands of dollars in debt and scrambling for a job befpre interest payments destroy my ass XDDDDD end me.
