yea I watched the first 50 episodes or so on hulu a couple years ago. and that barely scratched the surface of the series. I don't know when I will finish it. its got like a thousand episodes or something

There's enough episodes of One Piece to where it would take like 2 1/2 months of viewing time straight to catch up iirc

Try reading it if you want to just get the story, da manga is still freaking awesome. But if you want to feel the environment, the atmosphere, all the feels the series gives then give the anime a try. It starts off a bit slow, but the music is really awesome. I love luffy's theme song lol. You can just watch 2 episodes, skip the filler episodes, maybe skip the anime openings and especially the endings/preview of next episode stuff. What i'm doing now, since the pacing is incredibly slow is just skipping the first 7 minutes since its just preview of previous episode and opening song. I enjoy it though, I know everyones like "omg deres too many episodes no no no" but you'll be craving for more once you catch up, we're at 926 manga chapters and I can't fucking wait for da next chapter --- ...
