It's not a debate by anyone but Christians who want to pull a 'No True Scotsman'. Not only is Catholicism Christianity, it's the first major Christian group (a title arguably shared by the Orthodox sect).

You also didn't include groups like Mormons or Jehovah's Witnesses, but technically, they could fall under Baptist, I guess.
