"wait why arent they spending any money? wtffffffffff fuckin millenials STOP KILLING THE ECONOMY also pay your student debts pls"

Crazy how colleges only started like 5 years ago. Thankfully all the people in the past didn't have to worry about paying for college.

Tuition prices haven't risen? Cost of books have stayed the same? Food prices have been lowering instead of raising? Rent isn't a factor for any students?

Buying food is a new thing? Having a place to stay is new? Books are a new thing?

Crazy how now all of a sudden it's a problem. Lazy lazy lazy people.

Lol selective literacy. If it was your intent to make yourself look stupid when you decided to reply to only a handful of words in each sentence then well done.

ya, xyz should sell their products at a loss so entitled millenials that are too proud to work at mcdonalds can afford stuff.

your post alone shows the entitlement of millenials.

In your rush to kiss corporate ass, you have failed to read. No one said anything about selling at a loss. Companies need to adapt by offering things that appeal to who they're selling to. It's the company's responsibility to sell their goods and services. It is not the customer's responsibility to buy that company's goods and services.

I'm not buying it. Interests just changed. If millennials are so broke why do we all have $1k phones gaming pcs multiple consoles decent vehicles go to festivals, concerts, eat out a bunch, vacations. I don't feel poor just different. I only know one dude who likes to play golf and spending $30 for an 8 pack of razors is dumb when you can buy an electric for cheaper that lasts years.

So if I omit an iphone, couple consoles, vehicles and an 8 pack of razors, ill be able to afford a house? Cool where do I sign up? I sick of paying 2k for rent.

If 2k a month is too much for you you probably shouldn't be buying all of that frivolous crap anyway.

How many people on this site do you honestly think even earn over 2k per month period post-reductions (like tax) let alone could afford 2k per month in rent

I make about 5 to 6 thousand a month after tax. Granted I work like 60hrs a week.

A couple of things I want to comment on after reading through the topic:

1) Coal miners wanting to work obsolete jobs is not the same as people wanting to get a living wage for spending 40+ hours of their time every week on useful and necessary work. If you're dedicating about half your life (since sleep doesn't count as "leisure" time) to work, then you should be paid enough to live comfortably off of it.

2) Living with your parents to save money is perfectly fine. It's more efficient to bundle people together than to have each person in their own house. Whatever extra used by the one additional person is not much compared to the full bill. It's not mooching, especially since they're your parents. Families should be taking care of each other, not trying to kick each other out as soon as possible.

Doesn't really seem all that entitled. Boomers keep on harping on and on about how they were able to afford mansions and jets while working part time as shoesalesmen, why is it so wrong that their children or grandchildren should expect the same when they're all working 2 or 3 jobs at the same time?

Do you know how many people I've seen lose their factory jobs due to layoffs, or entire plants shutting down to move to other countries? These are some of the best paying jobs for people without an education, and have been for a long time, but they're disappearing before our very eyes

aren't you one of those people who laughs when coal miners get laid off and shit? just like yall say about that, "go learn new skills and remain relevant"

we've known for decades that the economy is no longer an economy where you work at the same dead-end mind-numbing job for 40 years before you collect a pension.

You must have me confused with someone else. I was pretty much born and raised in the culture of blue collar work, so I understand and empathize with the plight of these people quite well. It's no longer my cup of tea, but I'll never look down on those that live by it.

The problem is that our system isn't set up to accommodate the people displaced by a shrinking number of manufacturing jobs. Factories are the lifeblood of many small to medium sized Midwestern towns, and when they shut down, you could be looking at 1000s of people all trying to flood into every other labor market in the area

Proudclad has no earthly idea what he's talking about whenever he accuses people of doing certain things lol. He'll randomly accuse some person he's never spoken with of being against capitalism

Yeah that much is definitely obvious

Kinda brings everything he says into question if he can't even fact check before slinging shit at other users
