I got sent home from work today after only working 3 hours because I was on overtime and it's a slow season. So I'm pissed, cause that just killed my check next week! I came here to save big money, and I can't do it on a 40 hour check. I need my 50 hour checks like I've been getting. So now I'm back at the rehab, all alone and chilling. Sure, it's like I got a 3 day weekend, but hell, I'm willing to work. This place ain't cheap. It's $250 a week. And a 40 hour check is not even gonna crack $400. I've been pulling in $600 a week when I put in 50 hours. And that's great. If I can pull in at least $450 a week, I will be straight. That will be 250 to pay the rehab, 100 to spend, and 100 to save. I am making sure that I save at least $100 each week. That will be 4 grand in 10 months.

Not to mention, I get a $1000 bonus check after 6 months at my job, and another $1000 6 months after that. So as long as I'm able to save like I plan to, I will have 6 grand in the bank by the time I graduate this program. I came in here with 0 bucks, broke and homeless. Had no bank account. Now I've got a bank account with 700 bucks in it. It's a start, but I want more. I need more. I gotta get right. Lord be with me!

the employer saves about 50% when they don't pay overtime because that's the rate per hour.
the other thing, saving money towards a goal is always a good idea.

The thing is, other departments there get 5 days regardless. My roommate is one of them. So they don't have to worry about getting sent home early. But in my department, they are cracking down on the overtime. Because it's slower at this time of year. My supervisor said it was nothing personal, and that it won't be this way for too long. I went to HR and asked about it, and the lady told me she doesn't believe the 4 days is going to last long. So we should be going back to 5 soon. I sure hope so. Cause I need the money.

It's nice that I'm off work and all today, but still... once I get my check next Friday, I'll know just how much it will be. I want at least $450.. I'll be lucky to pull that.

Well, my other roommate is painting our room tomorrow, and he wants my help. He said he will pay me 40 or 50 bucks to help him out. So that will be nice. I've never painted before. But at least I'll be making a little extra money.

I've got to get a phone soon. I'm either gonna go with Cricket, Metro, or Boost. They are all $50 a month with unlimited everything. Buying the phone is the issue. I want something nice, but I will go with a mid level phone. I'll grab a flagship after a year when I have lots more money saved up. For now, I will get something around 200 bucks. So mid tier. But not bottom level.

cricket or boost probably won't screw you over too hard on pricing. not sure about metro they wanted a crazy deposit to start service and wouldn't replace my phone despite having insurance.

They say the activation fee is $15 at all of them. They are all $50 a month, unlimited everything. I will go with Metro cause they are the only ones who have the newly released LG Q7 Plus, which is an awesome mid-tier phone running Android 8.1 Oreo.

For phone, straight talk is what I have and it's also pretty cheap, though not sure how plans compare in terms of how much you need.
