They're dark...REALLY dark. It'd have to be makeup, but would they have white and/or black actors playing them? Or just not touch the dark elves entirely?

There's blue and grey body paints, think like ryuk from death note. Still plenty of other racially distinctive traits to emphasize that don't rely on blackface

Go anime style, make them blue/purple instead of full on black.

They will have to do make up and post-processing for the drow no matter who plays them because their skin tone and other features can't be represented with human actors well to begin with.

move all remaining groundhog mercenaries to the front lines. Have sheep troopers squadrons A and B flank the cows. They're using DC-17 hoof blasters.

Also, Homeland, Exile, Sojourn are really good books. I'm not really into the Forgotten Realms, but I really enjoyed the Dark Elf Trilogy.

did you read the others? the original trilogy was the Icewind Dale Trilogy and then Dark Elf was a prequel. and there were others too later that were sequels to Icewind Dale but I don't remember their names. I lost track of the series years ago but I used to be obsessed with Drizzt when I was young. I thought he was so cool

I wish they had already done this. when the DnD movie came out, I thought it was dumb that they just did a generic setting. they should have made the set in either Forgotten Realms or Dragonlance

They're better off just not doing it cause it'd come off as racist whether they use white actors or black actors

If it's white actors it'll just look like blackface

If it's black actors it'll look bad since drow are like 90% evil, and a good drow like drizzt would just look like "one of the good ones"

The only way I can think of it working is if they just actors of every race and didn't heavily lean on any one particular race

You know what? You're right. And I've realised the best way to do it.

CGI that bitch, mothafuckers. Make the elves look outright inhuman, like in the Elder Scrolls.

I read The Crystal Shard a couple years ago, I started with Homeland and have been reading forward. I know Dark Elf Trilogy was released after the Icewind Dale Trilogy, but in the modern editions and releases Homeland is marketed as Book 1 of Drizzt.

More recently I have been engrossed in The Stormlight Archive and The Horus Heresy for my fiction reading, so I've mostly abandoned Drizzt, but I do plan to return.
